College Major: Behavioral Health, Mental Health

Awarded to Ventura County residents who are entering, or are enrolled in a certificate, undergraduate, graduate, or medical/professional school program that focuses on behavioral/mental health. Awardees must intend to to serve the behavioral/mental health needs in Ventura County upon graduation. Applicants must be current or former Medi Cal benefit recipient. Preference given to current or former foster youth. Preference given to applicants who have current or past involvement in the criminal justice system. Preference given to first generation college students. Preference given to applicants who are fluent in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Mixteco/other indigenous languages, American Sign Language, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Arabic, Russian, Tagalog. Preference given to applicants who live in the following ZIP codes: 93040, 93033, 93060, 93041, 93036, 93043, 93030, 93001, 93023, 93015, 93003, 93010, 93012, 93040.

Award Amounts: Certificate Program $3500, Associate Degree $5500, Bachelor’s Degree $7500, Graduate/Medical Degree $9500.
