NewCo Foundation Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Fund

Awarded to Ventura County residents who are graduating high school seniors from public high schools in Ventura County who will enroll in an accredited community college, a 4-year college or university, or a vocational/trade/technical school. Applicants must have experience operating their own business, assisted with their family business, or demonstrated success in a school-based enterprise program (ASB, team/club fundraisers, and student store activities do not meet this qualification). Preference given to applicants who demonstrate financial need. Preference given to applicants who are bilingual. Preference given to applicants who have successfully completed a minimum of two Career Technical Education (CTE) classes. Preference given to applicants who will enroll in a public California university, college, or vocational/trade/technical school. Preference given to first generation college students. Preference given to applicants who identify as female or non-binary. Preference given to applicants of color. Preference given to applicants who are immigrants or who are the child of immigrants.

Award amounts: $10,000 for awardees attending a 4-year college or university, $1000 for awardees attending community college or vocational/trade/technical school. Award amounts are based on the academic status selected in the general application. If the applicant submits proof of enrollment for a lower academic status level than selected in the general application, the award amount will be decreased.
