Awarded to Ventura County or Los Angeles resident who is graduating or has graduated from high school and will enroll or is enrolled at a community college or 4-year college or university. This scholarship serves an applicant who has been personally affected by cancer either with their own diagnosis or cancer in a close family member or loved one. Applicants are required to upload a three to five minute video of themselves describing their personal experience with cancer and how it has affected them and their family. The video should also discuss how this experience has shaped their educational and career aspirations, their personal growth, and inspired them to make a meaningful contribution to others and their communities.
